The 4th-gen Megane brought a stronger turbo performance powertrain, 4CONTROL four-wheel steering, upgraded chassis and braking, and more track-focused drive modes and tuning; the later facelift period saw further RS-specific calibration and the lightweight Trophy-R derivative.

1.8L turbocharged inline-4 (M5Pt) paired with a 6-speed manual. The Trophy-R focuses on weight reduction and more aggressive chassis/suspension tuning, with output around 300 PS and 420 Nm.
