The 3rd-gen Mégane moved to a newer platform with more mature electronic stability systems, and performance variants gained upgraded suspension, braking and body rigidity. The facelift brought updated styling and incremental infotainment/feature updates, improving overall usability while keeping sharp handling.

Uses a turbocharged 2.0L inline-four petrol engine (F4Rt family) with a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. R.S. tuning adds higher-performance cooling/exhaust calibration, and (depending on version/pack) a limited-slip differential to improve traction and corner-exit grip.
