1st-gen Taycan introduced an 800V high-voltage architecture, a 2-speed rear transmission and advanced thermal management for faster charging and repeatable performance, plus Porsche’s integrated chassis electronics (torque management/vectoring, optional rear-axle steering and active roll control) for a strong blend of handling and comfort.
Battery-electric drivetrain with permanent-magnet synchronous motors (dual-motor AWD on many trims; RWD also available). A 2-speed automatic transmission on the rear axle supports strong launch performance and high-speed efficiency. Performance Battery Plus is used (about 93.4 kWh gross, ~83.7 kWh usable), with 800V DC fast charging and regenerative braking.
