The 1st-gen 718 Cayman GT4 RS upgrades the 718 platform with a GT3-derived 4.0L naturally aspirated engine and 7-speed PDK, plus significantly more aggressive aerodynamics, extensive weight reduction (CFRP and lightweight options), and track-focused chassis/brake tuning for a major jump in performance and downforce.

Mid-mounted 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six tuned for high revs, paired with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission; rear-wheel drive with enhanced cooling and track-oriented intake/exhaust (including optional titanium exhaust), prioritizing rapid shifts and high-rev power delivery.
