Evo VIII introduced further body/chassis strengthening and revised Super AYC/ACD AWD and suspension geometry, improving cornering traction and stability while retaining the high-output 4G63 turbo focus.

2.0L inline-4 4G63 turbo with a 5-speed manual (6-speed in some markets), using ACD active center differential and Super AYC active yaw/torque-vectoring rear differential AWD.
