3rd-gen MINI moved to BMW’s UKL platform with improved rigidity, NVH and safety; the 2018 facelift refreshed lighting and infotainment, and the Cooper SE added a full-electric drivetrain with adjustable regeneration for better urban efficiency.

Cooper SE uses a front-mounted electric motor with a single-speed reduction gearbox and a lithium-ion battery pack driving the front wheels; it features selectable regeneration/coasting modes and blended regenerative braking, rated around 135 kW and 270 Nm.
