The 4th-gen C-Class (W205) brought a lighter structure and more advanced chassis/electronics; AMG variants adopted the 4.0L V8 twin-turbo (hot-V) and improved dynamic control for sharper handling and better efficiency. The 2018 facelift updated lighting, interior, infotainment and driver-assistance tech.
The C 63 S uses the M177 4.0L V8 twin-turbo (hot-V layout) paired with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed (multi-clutch replacing a conventional torque converter), RWD and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (E-LSD) for quicker shifts and improved traction control.
