The 1st-gen AMG GT introduced an AMG-specific front-mid engine aluminum structure with active aerodynamics (front splitter and rear wing) and rear-axle steering for track-focused performance; the facelift refined chassis/electronics and broadened the lineup.
4.0L AMG M178 twin-turbo V8 (hot-V layout) paired with a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT dual-clutch transmission, rear-wheel drive and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential; the GT R adds upgraded cooling/boost and track calibration.
