The 1st-gen AMG GT introduced AMG’s own front‑mid‑engine RWD sports-car architecture. The Black Series adds track-focused aero (large wing, splitter, underbody management), more weight saving (carbon-fiber parts, fixed buckets), adjustable coilover-type suspension and uprated braking, plus a higher-output V8 and more aggressive shift/drive calibration for a more circuit-oriented character.

4.0L twin‑turbo V8 (M178 LS2) with a flat‑plane crank and dry‑sump lubrication. Paired with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7‑speed wet dual‑clutch (DCT) and rear‑wheel drive, featuring an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and track-oriented cooling and powertrain calibration.
