1st-gen MP4-12C introduced a carbon-fiber MonoCell tub, active aerodynamics, and ProActive Chassis Control hydraulically linked suspension to improve rigidity, handling and ride; paired with a twin-turbo V8 and dual-clutch gearbox for supercar performance.

3.8L M838T twin-turbo V8 (dry-sump) with a 7-speed SSG dual-clutch transmission and RWD; features boost control and active aerodynamics, producing about 625 PS and 600 Nm (Spider spec).
