3rd-gen Defender (L663) moved to the new D7x aluminum-intensive architecture with modern off-road electronics (Terrain Response 2, All Terrain Progress Control), available air suspension, and expanded ADAS/connectivity, improving rigidity, capability, comfort, and safety.

P300 uses a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic, permanent AWD and (depending on spec) a low-range transfer case, with terrain modes and electronic torque control to enhance traction off-road.
