2nd-gen MC51 introduced a new 249cc parallel-twin with throttle-by-wire, selectable power modes, HSTC traction control and a slipper clutch, focusing on higher-rev performance and a stronger electronics package; the 2020 facelift further lifted output and added an up/down quickshifter (equipment varies by version/market).
