2nd-gen Focus RS introduced a 2.5L turbo five-cylinder, FWD with Quaife LSD and RevoKnuckle front geometry to improve traction and reduce torque steer; chassis, brakes and cooling were uprated.

2.5L turbocharged inline-5 petrol with a 6-speed manual; front-wheel drive with a Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential focused on high torque and traction.
