3rd-gen Z4 moved to the CLAR platform and returned to a soft-top roof, improving rigidity and weight efficiency; it also brought updated chassis control and driver-assistance tech for a more balanced handling/comfort package.

Z4 sDrive20i uses BMW’s 2.0L B48 turbocharged inline-4 with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic and rear-wheel drive; features include direct injection, Valvetronic variable valve lift and Double VANOS.
