The 1st-gen 8 Series Coupe (G15) is built on BMW’s CLAR architecture with improved rigidity and lightweight construction. It introduced more advanced chassis control (e.g., Integral Active Steering/rear-wheel steering, active anti-roll and adaptive damping depending on spec) plus newer iDrive and driver-assistance tech, delivering a clear step up in dynamics and luxury technology.
The M850i uses a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 (N63 family) paired with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic and xDrive AWD. Key tech includes twin-scroll turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve control. Typical HK-spec output is around 530 PS and 750 Nm, tuned for strong low-end torque and effortless high-speed cruising.
