The 1st-gen iX1 (U11) brings BMW’s 5th-gen eDrive with a dual-motor AWD setup and more efficient power electronics. It also debuts iDrive 8 with a curved display and expanded driver-assistance tech, improving overall efficiency, performance and digital features versus prior X1-based offerings.

In Hong Kong the iX1 is commonly the xDrive30: dual electric motors (front + rear) for AWD, a high-voltage lithium battery system and a single-speed reduction gear (no conventional transmission), with regenerative braking and multiple drive modes. Peak system output is about 230 kW with 494 Nm.
