The 1st-gen iX introduced BMW’s new flagship BEV SUV with a high-voltage system and 5th-gen eDrive (integrated motor/inverter/gearbox), extensive CFRP/aluminum lightweight construction, the latest iDrive with curved dual displays, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS.
The iX xDrive40 uses a dual-motor AWD layout (front + rear motors) with a single-speed reduction gear. It features BMW 5th-gen eDrive with an integrated motor/inverter/gearbox; peak system output is 240 kW and 630 Nm, supporting AC charging and DC fast charging.
