The 1st-gen i4 is BMW’s electric Gran Coupe on the CLAR platform, introducing 5th-gen BMW eDrive (integrated motor, power electronics and battery), fast DC charging and advanced energy recuperation control, plus iDrive 8 with a curved display and updated driver-assistance tech.
The i4 M50 uses a dual-motor AWD setup (one motor per axle) with single-speed reduction gearing, delivering up to 400 kW and 795 Nm. It uses an ~83.9 kWh (gross) lithium-ion battery, supports DC fast charging (up to ~205 kW), and offers multi-level regenerative braking for a balance of performance and range.
