Gen 2 R8 moved to a multi-material Audi Space Frame (aluminum-intensive with carbon-fiber elements), improving stiffness and reducing weight. It also brought updated integrated chassis electronics/drive modes, a quicker dual-clutch gearbox, and more responsive quattro torque distribution for sharper performance and handling.

5.2L naturally aspirated V10 with FSI direct injection paired to a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch. quattro AWD uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch for primary torque distribution, supported by stability control and available chassis tech such as magnetic ride depending on HK spec/trim.
