The 2nd-gen R8 moved to a lighter aluminum/carbon body structure and a more advanced quattro/chassis electronics suite (adaptive damping, drive modes, etc.), improving rigidity, response and overall performance. It also introduced a fully digital driver-focused cockpit (Virtual Cockpit) to upgrade the HMI.
A 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox and quattro AWD using a multi-plate clutch for torque distribution. The R8 V10 plus is the higher-output tune, focused on sharper response and faster shifting.
